2018 Carroll District Swim Program
Boy Scout Division
The Boy Scout swim program is an opportunity for Scouts to earn the Swimming and Lifesaving Merit Badges and to pass the swimming advancement requirements for First and Second Class. Swimming instruction will also be available for scouts who don’t already know how to swim. This is a five session course.
Where: McDaniel College swimming pool located on Monroe St. extended, just west of Pennsylvania Ave. in Westminster. (Photo Map or Campus Map)
When: All sessions start at 3:00 and end at 5:00 p.m. on the following dates.
- Saturday, January 06
- Saturday, January 20
- Saturday, February 17
- Saturday, February 24
- Saturday, March 3
- Swim Suit (NO cutoff)
- Towel
- Merit Badge Book (See #2 Below)
- Filled Out Merit Badge Blue Card with Scoutmaster signature
Cost: The cost is $35 per scout. Pre-payment and preregistration are required via this web site. There will be no registration at the pool.
Limit: If a session is overbooked, attendees will be assigned by registration date. No Scout will be allowed into the pool without payment, a permission slip, and a completed medical form. The permission slip and medical form must be brought to the pool at the scout's first session.
Other:
- Each Troop with Scouts in attendance is expected to have an adult leader present to help if needed.
- Scouts registered for the Life Saving Merit Badge or the Swimming Merit Badge must obtain and read the current Merit Badge book before coming to the pool. Bring the book with you.
- Scouts who are taking the Learn to Swim program will not be allowed to also take the Swimming or Life Saving Merit Badges.
