STEM Merit Badge Day
at Aberdeen Proving Ground
|
|
The Baltimore Area Council and Aberdeen Proving Ground are teaming up to offer a unique day for local Boy Scout age youth: STEM Merit Badge Day at Aberdeen Proving Ground. Yes, for Scouts and non-Scouts alike.
The Boy Scouts of America offers more than 120 merit badges in total ranging from archery to wilderness survival. The Baltimore Area Council recently announced this new annual program partnership with Aberdeen Proving Ground meant to promote those in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields collectively known as STEM.
At least 16 of the 38 STEM merit badges will be offered at this one-day event at Aberdeen Proving Ground. This is a great day of opportunity and learning… although no merit badge is guaranteed. Like all merit badge work…pre-requisites and approval from your Scoutmaster before and after the event is required.
Like the Boy Scout motto says…BE PREPARED. Pre-registration and planning is required. Unfortunately, there will be no exceptions. Troops should consider making one reservation online with all Scouts as part of their registration.
