Brotherhood Eligibility

Dear Brother,

Congratulations. You have completed 10 months since you became a member of the Order of the Arrow. We invite you to attend a Brotherhood weekend at Broad Creek Memorial Scout Reservation to seal your membership in the Order of the Arrow.

There are a few items you can prepare for before you attend the weekend.
They are to memorize:
•    The Obligation
•    The Order of the Arrow official song
•    The Admonition
•    The sign of the Ordeal membership
•    The handclasp.
(All can be found in your OA Handbook or on the National OA web site: www.oa-bsa.org click on the Jump Start button.)

You will also need to write a letter to the Lodge Secretary explaining what you think the Obligation means, describe how you have been fulfilling this Obligation in your troop and in your daily life, and how you have used your understanding of the Ordeal to aid in this service, and a include description of your plans for giving service in the lodge program.

If you are not currently an active registered member in Scouting, please notify us so we can update our records accordingly.

At your Ordeal, you were sent to seek a vision of yourself and of your purpose. The challenge of the Brotherhood membership is a part of that vision. Plan now to seal your membership in the Order of the Arrow at any of the upcoming Brotherhood Conversions: Summer Camp June 26- July 30, Sabbath Observant Ordeal Aug 17-19, Dulaney Hosted Ordeal Aug 19-21, Harford Hosted Ordeal Sep 9-11, Carroll Hosted Ordeal Sep 23-25, or Fall Fellowship Oct 7-9.  The cost for Brotherhood is FREE, or $20.00 if you have not paid your dues for the year.

Feel free to contact me with any questions at dulaneyoa@gmail.com or my adviser, Mr. Chris Gagliardi, at oajcmg@gmail.com. I hope to see you at one of these weekends while you convert to Brotherhood.

Yours in Brotherhood,

Ethan
