Japan 2015 World Scout Jamboree



July 28 - August 8, 2015   ***  Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan

With more than 30,000 Scouts and leaders from 161 countries, participants will live and learn with fellow scouts from around the world. They will be housed in tents along with the BSA contingent but will soon venture out for two weeks of activities and adventures to include:

Community Services * Experience the real Japan by working with local people

Peace Program * A one-day off-site program to Hiroshima Peace Memorial

Global Development Village * On-site program, topics include peace, health, human rights, & the environment

Water Activities * Sailing, wind surfing, snorkeling, rafting, and fishing on area lakes, rivers, or the nearby coast

City of Science * One-day program in Kirara-hama, topics include energy sources, robotics, and automotive tech


Registration - The BSA is accepting registrations now through the end of July. The BSA's youth contingent is open to any registered member between the ages of 14 and 17. Venturers ages 18 to 20 can attend as part of the International Service Team of assistant leaders.

Costs - Adult leader & Youth Participant $5750.00. Includes round-trip airfare, registration fee, two-three day tour of Japan, lodging, ground transportation, meals, troop equipment including tents ans cots, insurance, shipping of equipment to Japan, and personal items including duffle bag, day pack, neckerchiefs, and patches.

  • Inclement Weather Policy
    The Baltimore Area Council uses this Inclement Weather Policy when determining the postponing or cancellation of activities, events and closing of facilities due to weather related events in the area. Weather may vary in different parts of the council service area, so all activities council-wide may not be cancelled but will be decided on a District by District basis.
  • Update on Tolerance, Inclusion & Membership Standards
    The Executive Board of the Baltimore Area Council Boy Scouts of America at it's recent meeting held on November 19, 2013 affirmed the council policies on inclusion and tolerance and approved publishing of these to this website. The Executive Board also affirmed the membership standards of the National Council of Boy Scouts of America and have approved the republishing of the National support documents related to the memebership standards.
