2010 National Scout Jamboree

Want to go to the National Jamboree?

Consider a Jamboree Staff position - without qualified volunteers like YOU we cannot make the National Jamboree a success!

Jamboree staff positions are open to adult men and women who meet required qualifications. Both adult and youth staff members must be registered members of the Boy Scouts of America. Adult staff members must be 21 years old and youth staff members must be between 16 and 21 years of age by the time the Jamboree starts.

Jamboree staff provides all the support and program services needed for an outstanding event. Volunteer staff operates everything from bus and telephone systems to a hospital and first-aid stations, police and fire departments, post offices, banks, food warehouses, a daily newspaper, and retail stores (trading posts).

Staff also provides the support for all the program and activity areas (like archery, rifle shooting, zip lines, biking, scuba diving) arena shows, and merit badge midway.

These were the position areas listed for the 2005 Jamboree, but they will be similar in 2010. We do not have information from National yet, but we hope to have details by early winter.

In the past, National BSA has had potential staff members fill out a national staff application. That application had to be approved by the Baltimore Area Council, who would then forward it to National.

Staff members work with National BSA, not the Baltimore Area Council, on all details necessary to being a Jamboree staff member. National provides the contact information for those people with questions.

Most Jamboree staff positions have staff members coming out before the Jamboree starts for the boys. They set up their area and staff it during the Jamboree, and have time off from their staff area to tour the Jamboree and visit their sons.

Information will be posted here as it becomes available from National BSA.
