Fast StartFast Start training provides an immediate comfort level for new leaders and enables them to say, "I can do this!" Fast Start training is the first step for any new volunteer and is to be delivered immediately after a new leader registers and before he or she meets with any youth member. Cub Scout Fast Start | Boy Scout Fast Start | Venturing Fast Start Cub Scout Leader Fast StartCub Scout Leader Fast Start is a package of position-specific video programs. Each program gives leaders information on planning and conducting their first meeting, and even demonstrates one they can use. Five segments are included on the video: Tiger Cub Den Leader, Cub Scout Den Leader, Webelos Den Leader, Cubmaster and Pack Committee. Pack-administered self-study is the primary method of delivery for Fast Start training. A pack trainer usually supports the new leader during this training period.
Cub Scout Fast Start Online
The National Council has developed the computer-based Cub Scout Fast Start Leader Training. This training does not replace the current video-based Fast Start, but provides an additional method of delivering this important information to new leaders. This interactive training experience, which takes about 20 minutes to complete, takes leaders through a "What Every Cub Scout Leader Should Know" section, then allows them to choose the training appropriate to their position. Specific sessions for new Cub Scout Den leaders, Webelos Den leaders, Cubmasters, Pack Committee members and Tiger Cub coaches are included.
Boy Scout Fast StartThe Boy Scout Fast Start video includes the following segments: - The Troop Meeting – the primer on how to run a Troop meeting. Produced for new unit leaders and commissioners, the video covers planning, parts of the meeting, the patrol method, and resources.
- The Outdoor Program – Running a Troop meeting is one thing; running a successful outdoor activity is another. This program delves into planning, organization, ideals, and BSA policy for outdoor activities. It also touches on long-term and high-adventure activities.
- The Troop Organization – This program starts with the charter concept - the chartered organization, the district, and the council, and their relationship to the Troop. Each leadership and committee position is described. This is an excellent program for commissioners, Troop committees, Troop leaders, and chartered organizations.

Venturing Fast StartThe Venturing Fast Start guide and video, illustrates how using the program planning process can get Venturing programs off to a successful start. It provides information about training youth officers and is designed to be produced locally to orient new crew advisors.
