 WHAT is a Klondike Derby:

 

 Cub Scout Trail:  Cub Scouts will learn about the 1898 Klondike Gold Rush while having fun and playing games!   The Cub Scout Klondike trail is an outdoor trail activity approximately 1.5 miles long and is intended for Lions, Tigers, Wolves, Bears, and first year Webelos...Click here for the Klondike Program Guide!

 

 Scout Trail:  The Scout trail is intended for Webelos and Scouts below the rank of First Class.  The Klondike Derby Scout trail is a three mile hike with multiple stations designed to test scout skills required for First Class...Click here for the Klondike Program Guide!

 

 Fees:

Scouts or Cub Scouts $15.00
BSA Registered Adults $0.00   /   Non BSA Adults $5.00

Registration is due by January 19, 2019.  To reduce congestion on the trails and park, registration will be limited to the first 600 Scouts on the Cub Scout Trail and the first 50 sleds on the Scout Trail.  Units are strongly encouraged to register before January 7.  Registration is not complete until the fees are received for the number of participants indicated.

 

PACKS AND TROOPS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO REGISTER AND PAY ONLINE

Cancellation Policy
This event is subject to cancellation due to weather or other safety conditions, as determined by the NPD event staff or the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. Event organizers will follow the BSA Guide to Safe Scouting and their own judgment when considering safety issues. NPD will make every reasonable effort to hold the event; however, if the event is cancelled, NPD will not be able to offer refunds but will distribute event materials in an equitable manner.
