2018-2019 BAC Program Calendar
(Dates are subject to change.  Revised 7/2/18)

Updated Youth Protection Training is Here

Boy Scouts Program Name Change:  Scouts BSA

The Boy Scouts of America announced Scouts BSA as the new name for the Boy Scout program for older youth (girls and boys 11-17). The name change will be effective in February 2019, when Scouts BSA will begin welcoming girls. The organization name will continue to be Boy Scouts of America.

The Boy Scouts of America is the umbrella organization for several programs including Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts (soon to be Scouts BSA), Venturing BSA and Exploring.

The Cub Scout program (ages 7-10) started welcoming girls this year but the program name will remain the same. The Venturing and Exploring programs for coed youth (ages 14-21) will also remain unchanged.

Please monitor https://www.scoutingnewsroom.org for more updates about program changes.

Seeking Scouters for 1-day Bus Trip to the 24th Annual BSA World Scout Jamboree

The World Scout Jamboree is fast approaching (July 22 – August 2, 2019). The BAC International Committee is looking for Scouts and leaders who would be interested in taking a day trip to the Jamboree next July or August. The cost of the trip would include bus fare to and from the JAMBO, a day ticket to get into the JAMBO, water and snacks on the way to and from the event. This notice serves to gauge interest in a day trip. If we get enough people, the committee would move forward with getting a price for a bus (or 2)  and day tickets to the Jamboree (day ticket will be available as the date gets closer).  The estimated cost is estimated to be around $100 to $150 per person. For info on the JAMBO events, please visit: https://wsj2019.us/ [wsj2019.us]

The bus would leave Baltimore very early in the morning and get back to Baltimore early the following morning.  If you are interested in a trip like this, please send an email to BACIR220@gmail.com with your name, email address, contact phone number and names of people in your group by 1/31/2019.  Your email is NOT a commitment, just an indication of interest.
